אברהם מור נולד בשנת 1938 בעיר קאבול שבאפגניסטאן להורים שהגיעו לקאבול בשנת 1932 מהעיר מרוו שבטורקמניסטאן.

מצד אביו מתייחס אברהם אל הסבא הגדול בשם אמין מרדכא אשר הגיע ממשהד בשנת 1870 לעיר מרוו. מצד אמו הוא משתייך למשפחת גול הענפה. סבו הגדול (סבא רבא) הוא יואב גול מהראת, בעל הבניין בירושלים בו שוכנת הישיבה האפגנית על שם בנימין גרג'י. הבניין נתרם לטובת הקהילה האפגנית ע"י צאצאיו של מולא יואב גול.

אברהם מור נולד וגר בקאבול עד גיל 12. בשנת 1950 עלה לארץ יחד עם בני משפחתו ושהה כמה חודשים במחנה עולים בפרדס חנה. בגיל 13 החל ללמוד את אומנות ליטוש היהלומים בתור נער עובד ולומד. אברהם שירת בחיל האוויר הישראלי בשנים 1956 - 1959.

בשנת 1969 עבר אברהם לניו יורק לרגל עבודתו בסחר יהלומים, עבודה בה הוא עוסק עד היום. אברהם מור הוא אחד ממקימי בית הכנסת של יהודי אפגניסטאן בניו יורק על שם קהילת אנשי שלום וכיהן כנשיא הקהילה במשך שנתיים בין השנים 1983 - 1984. עם סיום תקופת נשיאותו קיבל אייב את התואר נשיא הכבוד של הקהילה.

בנוסף לעבודתו התובענית עוסק אברהם גם במוסיקה ובכתיבת ספרים. עד עתה הוציא לאור את הספרים "גורלך בידיך" בעברית, "אבות ובנים" בעברית ובאנגלית, הספר "מחוראסן ואפגניסטן לפאתי ניו יורק" אודות בני הקהילה האפגנית שתקעו יתד בניו יורק, והספר הנקרא "הטוב והרע שבתוכנו". כמו כן הוציא אייב לאור ספר שירה "חדש שירינו כקדם" . עתה עסוק אייב בהוצאת ספרו הבא.

בנושא המוסיקה, עוסק אברהם בשירה וזימרה והפקת דיסקים. מטרתו היא לשמר את הפיוטים והשירים אשר שרו אבותינו. עד כה הפיק אייב 9 דיסקים וכתב עשרות שירים ומאות פתגמים. נושאי השירים אשר אייב עוסק בהם בין היתר הם שירי שבת, קודש וחול. לאחרונה עיבד אייב לחן אפגני עממי לשירה של המשוררת זלפה בכצ'י "כאשכי באל דאשתם מיפארידם" .

 

Abraham Mor was born in 1938 in the city of Kabul in Afghanistan. His parents arrived in Kabul in 1932 from Merv, Turkmenistan. 

Abraham's great grandfather on his father's side is Amin Mordecha. He arrived from Mashhad in Iran to Merv in 1870. On his mother's side he belongs to the Gul family. His great grandfather was Mullah Yoav Gul from Herat, the owner of the famous central building in Jerusalem where now the Yeshiva of Rabbi Binyamin Gargi is located. This building was donated for the benefit of the afghani community, by the offspring of Mullah Yoav Gul.

Abe Mor was born in Kabul and lived there till the age of 12. In 1950 he made Aliyah together with all his family. He stayed a few months in an Immigrants camp in Pardes Hanna, and at the age of 13, as a learning and working boy, started studying the art of polishing and cutting diamonds. In the years 1956-59 he served in the Israeli air force. 

In 1969 he moved to New York due to his work in diamond trading, profession he holds to date. 

Abraham Mor is one of the founders of the of the Jewish-afghani synagogue in New York named after the "Anshei Shalom" congregation. He was president of the community for two years, between 1983-1984. When his presidency was over, he was nominated "Honorary President" of this congregation.

In addition to his intensive work with diamonds, Abe is also busy in music and writing. Up till now he has published the books "Fathers and Sons" the book is in two volumes, Hebrew and English; "Your destiny is in your hands"; "Afghan Jews: From Horassan and Afghanistan to New York" and the book "The Good and the Bad Within Ourselves". Abraham is engaged in music, writing, singing, and producing discs. He has published a song book named "Hadesh shirenu kekedem"(renew our old songs).

The subject of his songs are songs of Shabat, holy songs and daily life songs. His goal is to preserve the songs and piutim (holy music) that our parents were singing. Up till now he has produced 9 discs, wrote dozens of songs and written hundreds of proverbs. Lately he adapted an afghani folk melody to the famous song of the Jewish-afghani poetess Zilpa Bakshi "Kashki ball 

doshtam, miparidam"(If I had wings).
